I have been neglecting my duty to let people in on my life in Korea. I want to say sorry, but I can’t because usually instead of sitting in front of a computer lately I have been here and there and enjoying this place at last.
I looked around my kindergarten classroom today and felt genuine adoration towards them…It was fabulous.
When I am not at school I am with some of the greatest people to have fun and hang with; poker nights, coffee nights, drinking nights, sleeping nights,--the feel of “routines” being formed.
We had to say a semi-goodbye to Jeremy last weekend. After seven years at LCI he has decided to move on and teach again (rather than mostly administrative) at a local university. He will have a couple of months vacation and will be back to harass us all in August. His party from LCI was supposed to be costume so there was a little bit of dressing up from people, but nothing elaborate. Chris, Liam and Terry the “new guys” decided to dress up like Jeremy, Brandon and Matt, “the vets.” It was all in good fun. I bandaged myself up and came as myself after a year at LCI.
Poker nights have gone well enough the past two weeks. Last week getting a little out of hand on starting time and re-buys and etc. but it was well worth it. So far I have finished 3rd, 2nd, and 3rd again; and the professional player (Onaje) has been taken out by a beginners luck (Chris).
I know that as I was sitting in class waiting for the kids to finish some work I thought of a dozen stories to tell about them and what we do. I don’t really have anyone to blame except myself for not sitting down to do this lately. Four months today. Four months. Everyone is speculating what about the next 8 and I think it will go by so fast that we won’t have a chance to breathe anymore than we already have.
I will do better…I am sorry…I am going to do some “work” and sleep for the first time in days.
