New, Old and Transition

I almost fell asleep in my class today even though I technically got more than enough sleep last night and the preceding nights and days. I am also working on making my room fabulous for the kids and for the parent teacher conferences next week. Lastly, I took over Brooke’s overtime while she is on vacation for the month of June. Also, they are changing some classes around so my 6pm class now has three people in it and may even go down to two people.

We are taking care of silkworms in our classroom for an extended science project this month. I named them Cheech & Chong and one is already cocooning. The kids are really excited about them and love to watch and look at them all of the time.

More on parent conferences; an explanation of what English Village is and a BBQ-ing story after my nap (meaning when I have time…) I am trying to edit photos still and have/want to get my classroom set up to be more and more comfortable as time goes on for the kids and me. Does it really surprise anyone that I want pictures and writing and etc etc on the walls of the classroom and for the kids to be very comfortable and happy overall?

The kids are having fun and I am having fun and most of the fellow teachers seem to be having fun. … After months have gone by I am learning (accepting) not to stress over what they are and are not doing; just keep repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating …. You get the picture and I think I may be too. Scary ain’t it…
