So, it is Wednesday evening; one of my favorite nights. Why? Because. Wednesdays are usually one of the best days of the week and the weather has turned to mid 70’s (F) amazing-ness.
(Seriously I already got a sunburn form sitting outside during lunch.) To explain Wednesday bliss: Our morning lesson plans and weekly evaluation books have to be done by Tuesday night/Wednesday morning before class; so Monday and Tuesdays are spent doing said evals and lesson plans. Any class activity preparation(s) also are on the tail spin time due to them having to be done for Tuesday/Wednesday classes. Lastly, I have a double/back to back prep-time in the afternoon; an hour and a half of basically uninterrupted time to prep for the rest of the week and the next week. Today I spent most of that time cleaning/organizing my desk and papers. It was great to finally get a chance to put some of the papers that just collect into folders and etc.
For me Wednesday also signals the oncoming weekend and made me think of the last weekend. I posted and talked about last Friday’s fieldtrip with the kids. How good they were and how interesting it was to see them respond to the art. Friday night was really good too. It was spent hanging out with Sarah (half of the married couple) for the first time since they got to the other school. It has been so busy and hard to stay in touch without the constant availability of internet/phones. It was really nice to get a chance to talk to her and catch-up. I also got to see their apartment. It’s really nice; a double in a brand new building. They are the first to live there type new. Saturday morning I gotted my internet and skype! Both of which I love having in my apartment.
Saturday afternoon was pretty interesting. Poor Brooke was pretty drugged up form going to the hospital that morning, but she and I went to a student’s Mom’s nail/tattoo make-up/massage Shop for free mani (we are supposed to go back for a pedi). It is a former student of Brookes and a current student of mine. The student kept requesting I come by and then the mom told Brooke to bring me so that was kinda cool. She wanted to “thank” us. Now I have almost no clue how to thank her back. It was a very nice gesture.
That night we celebrated Sarah’s birthday (it was April 1st) by going bowling/ordering pizza/going drinking. We meet up with some more people downtown later and had just a fun night. I started to not feel very good though and the next day was sick ALL day. I basically just slept, but Brooke woke me up with Chris and SarahAiden in tow to see the apartment and hang for a while. I got up for a while then, but passed out when they left. I had a fever of 102 when I checked. I feel great now though.
Because I do not have as much free time as I did this post is more or less a rundown of what I’ve been doing. I am going to try to do some pics editing to post…better written post to come as well. Sorry this one is kinda boring I am going to blame it on Spring Fever and my want to go out on this marvelous Wenesday…
