Full Moon Tonight! Touchablely close and orang-er than the setting sun! My only lament is the lack of a good tripod to use on it. I just sat there watching it. I think I’ve mentioned that I am obsessed with the full moon and how it never ceases to become boring to me.
Anyway…other news: This week in class we have been “describing people.” It is kinda hard to demonstrate different hair styles to boys who all have short bowl-cuts and girls who have medium long hair all of which is black. I did have the opportunity to teach the difference between pig and pony tails and I taught them to say that Sean has a mullet (because he does) I even went so far as to have fun and had Sean say; “I have a mullet: Business in front-Party in back.” It was a great moment that I plan to repeat for the camera.
I accidentally had a pencil shoved up my nose causing it to bleed in class today. It was pretty awesome though because it was a “did that really happen?” moment. Most of the class didn’t notice so that was the best part (no freaking out or having to have to explain to the parents that their kids saw a pencil get shoved up the teachers nose to cause a nose bleed. They just thought it was bleeding and I needed tissue…I can’t help but think it was pretty awesome that it happened at just the right angle and momentum to get up my nose.
Other good times (actual ones) are how much me kids love “science” or as it should better be known as: “something Cassandra-Teacher has to spend a lot of time putting together because it is too much for me, but that I get to play with for an hour” (I know that’s a long title, but it is the truth). Tomorrow we get to do capsule races. I do not yet know what that means other than: hard to control moments as the kids participate in this “racing” thing.
Payday and the weekend approach tomorrow! I am going to the first of what is sure to be many Korean baseball games Saturday. It is a whole 6 dollars and I am told to bring my camera because they actually stretch, and help each other do it, during the 7th inning.
This week has been kinda blah. The weather gorgeous, but filled with sick peoples and tons of work. The other night it was nice as I walked home Jeremy and Brandon caught my attention from the restaurant they were at and I got a chance to sit and talk to them for a while. We had some fruit soju that tasted like a smoothie. It was delicious. Stephanie and Carlos bought a dog. It is no bigger than my two palms and just 6 weeks old, but totally adorable.
Oh! Here is a bit of a story: Fred in my 4:30 class brought a chick with him today. Found it on the playground. Caught it; put it in his pocket and then in a box. It chirped the entire class; we threatened to fry it up if it didn’t stop. Very entertaining.
Lastly: Happy Birthday shout-out to my Pappy!
Bummer about your bloody nose, but hooray for the kids not freaking out. Seems weird that they'd be afraid or freaked out at your red fingernails, but not so worried about blood gushing from your nose.
ReplyDeleteAlso the description of the mullet is one of my favorites of all time.
