Baseball; bicycles and bunnies (well eggs, but that’s not alliterationally pretty but they are both for Easter)

Where to even begin…just jump right into the story or start with something witty and funny to make you want to read? Oh well this free though flow will have to do…this past weekend was so much fun and literally left me in awe at times.

Friday night: Stopped in the doctor (ear/nose/throat) with Brooke. He asked if I was a friend of hers and then waved me over to his side of the exam. I thought he might want to point to something and try to help translate or maybe to be able to… I don’t know, but all he had me do was look with him into her mouth and tried to let me see up her nose. Oh and they don’t use the wooden disposable depressors they re-use metal ones. (that was the most eventful part of the night)

Saturday started out wonderful. Great weather; sleep in a little; some skype/internet time. Then I headed to the park to meet up with Brooke and soak up some sun shine. It was gorgeous out; absolutely gorgeous. Mid-70’s and bright sun sittin in the park. One of our students Kitty (whose mom owns the nail shop across from the park) heard Priya-teacher say we were in the park when she went into the shop and asked to be taken to us. It was very cute. She hung with us for a little while then Brooke tooke her back across the street while I watched the bags. We had all kinds of visitors: A man who kept telling us to get out of the sun and into the shade; a never ending parade of giggly kids coming up and saying hi and staring and co-workers stopping on their way through the park.

After the park it was Gwang-Ju’s Kia Tigers Baseball Opening Day! What better way to connect with home than America’s past time. The tickets: about 4 USD! That’s all. The stadium is small..the field is small…we were right on left field. Stadium officials don’t assign seats when selling tickets; they also don’t count how many tickets they will sell-so they over sold the game. Standing room only amount of people. 16 LCI peoples went. Oh and you can bring in your own food and drink. People had pizza and chicken; ours guys brought lots of beer. It’s kinda funny-the game was slow-ish tied two homes and, like, three other hits; extra innings; Samsung Lions win; but the real thing to do was not watch the gam, but the crowd.

They chanted. All the time. And had these tubes that they would hit together to make more of a sound/impact. Then at some point during the 8th inning an entire section had balloons and synchronized a routine of up down over etc using these balloons. It was crazy. At the 7th inning stretch…each team really did s t r e t c h ! also during that time a man presented a gal with some flowers and a Paris Baguette Cake (needed for all the important moments in life-it is a status symbol) and proposed to her on top of home-team dugout. During the random camera points to you and says kiss moment: two guys came up on screen as a joke…after some hesitations and the crowd cheering they really kissed. Also, my bag that I carried got beer soaked. That sucked-Sarah and Aiden let me borrow a bag they brought food and drink in for the evening…

Then comes my favorite part: Bryan took his picture with a couple of Koreans, then suddenly, whole family groups wanted to have their pictures taken with him. Some sort of a mascot/ etc. Youda thought he was some famous celebrity. It continued after the game even. It was hilarious. Random people and he was lovin’ it. He also tried to dance with a woman who sold cigarettes and ended up getting a cig pack. (Which was passes around the non-smokers who held them and “used them.” After the game natives where commin up to us asking questions and such…Then some kids ran up to Steven and asked for his autograph…Seriously! His autograph! A group of drunk Koreans started to talk to us. Told Brooke she was nice looking asked to kiss her, but didn’t wait for a reply. A buddy of has came up to me and said very sexy while grabbing my boobs and having a hard-on in my thigh then moving over to Liam and caressing his stomach and thigh and grabbing his butt. Brooke and Bill told them they were married to get them away from her and they asked if Liam and I were together when I went to let him know we were heading out. He jumped and said yup and we headed out…

Following the game we had to cross traffic where Aiden drops his memory card int eh middle of the street. Then had to cross these rocks over a river where Brooke the most sober of all bites it royally. Finally it is decided to find food. Most the guys headed downtown to a bar while Aiden, Sarah, Brooke and I stopped in at TGI Friday’s We left there- stopped in the bathroom on the way out-two gals were there as we were leaving. They had heard us talking gave us decorated eggs; told us “Rebirth/renew…Eastar.” Finally, the strangest part of the night for me: as Brooke and I walked home on a very wide section of side walk (2.5 meters minimum) I was run over by a bike. That’s right. A bike ran over my right foot and into my right leg and swung the bag I was carrying over to my left shoulder…and didn’t stop, just kept going. Brooke thought he had popped a tire that is the sound of his running me over. Still have no clue what happened. And Brooke and I were the sober ones. No alcohol was involved in (our) part of the day (not to say that others had not had some).

Sunday, also, was kinda slow and easy. Sarah and I met to shop. We spent a significant part of that time in a coffee shop gossiping; but we did find some bargains. It was a good Easter beautiful day…
